I need a continuous block of time to get it done, so I've reserved some vacation next month. Smiley

Nice tool for us busy DMs out there. This is the only editable Quest Card I've been able to find on the net, and I'm putting it to immediate use! I love the additional templates beyond item, monster, quest, power. Also, the ability to quickly throw together a note or letter in a nice small, easily hung onto card format for my PCs is a wonderful addition.

I do have one suggestion, though:

You mention in your example posts the template ' allows some layout,' yet there's no help page or anything like that to let the users know what layout is available, or how to create the layout on the card. If you could implement something like this, it would be truly helpful for those who use the site.

Thank you for the effort in bringing this to the DnD 4e masses!

FEATURE REQUEST: "Duplicate Card"

Have it as a link under a card in deck view (like the link to edit the card).

It promptly makes a second copy of the card, identical to the first.

And now, we can edit that copy into a new card, without having to re-write it all from scratch.

- - -

FEATURE REQUEST: Edit deck order. Just the ability to reorder the cards within the deck. I may not do all the related cards at once, but I do want to group them.

- - -

BUG/ISSUE: Non-representative previews.

A quirk in the way the system renders previews makes those previews of dubious value.

Different previews of the same card can show different things.

I made a card where all the text fit in the Edit preview.

Saving it, I discovered that in the deck view Zoom preview, the bottom of the text was cut off.

So I edit again, remove some line breaks, save. Now in the Zoom view, it all fits.

Awesome. I download PDF (letter, 100%, uncheck all) to see what it comes out like...

...

And the bottom of the text is cut off. Again.

It seems that the font being used is not scaling properly for the different sized previews you're using, and this makes laying out a text heavy card an exercise in frustration.

I strongly suggest retooling all the previews to render at the same size as the PDF output, and then resizing it from there as appropriate. This will bring some much needed consistency.

FEATURE REQUEST: "Edit reverse of card"

I can simulate this by adding multiple cards and then putting them together, but it would be great if I could just print them out as you do currently with adding a back to a card.

---

TEMPLATE REQUEST: "plain/circled styles with images"

---

NAVIGATION REQUEST: 1) From the download page have the link actually take you back to the deck rather than the print setup page.

As it stands after printing I have to go Home > Browse All Decks Now > [Deck] to get back to editing the deck, or to My decks

---

DISPLAY ISSUE: After adding an image the card is previewed below the edit area instead of next to it (viewed in Chrome)

---

But hey, it's a beta. Looking good Smiley

hmm, you may want to check to see if an update is available for your browser.  When I come to the site, the Forums with new posts have their Icon in color.  When you click into the forum, the threads with new posts have a "New" icon at the end of their name.  If you click the "New" icon, it will bring you to the newest posts.

I come here nearly every day, so I am not 100% sure if the "new" icon brings you to the first new post, or just the end of the thread.  I think it's the first new post though.

Hope that helps.

First off, this is an amazing tool that is dovetailing nicely with my attempts at putting encounter decks together for those last minute sessions. I am amazed at how elegant the entire thing really is.

That said, I would like to second some way to duplicate cards in a deck without retyping the information. If this already exists and I am for some reason oblivious to it, I would love a nod in the right direction.

Once again, words really do fall short in trying to explain how useful this tool really is, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for it!

Yup. I that is pretty much an deal breaker for me. Good start on an app, but its pretty fiddly even if the previews work. Without accurate previews it is too much back and forth. I'll check back to see if that gets resolved as I'd love to use it!

Thanks

I'd like to request a template that's good for initiative tracking cards?  Something like the half-moon template, but with more than 4 large, visible values.  I tend to track about 7/8 values in my initiative trackers- AC, Fort, Ref, Will, Init, and Perception/Intuition bonuses.  So, it's hard to make all that visible and easy to read in the current templates.

Also will there ever be a way to make our own templates?
