just started using the 3.5e generator and I'm trying to add a custom scimitar to the database that has a 1d6 primary damage, and 2d6 of electrical

no matter how i do it, i cannot get the secondary damage to work...nor can i set the primary damage to 3d6 to workaround the secondary.

no matter what i enter into those two fields, the weapon always displays 1d6 + 4  (+4 enchantment)
if i give it a 2d6 damage, it displays 1d6...if i give it 3d6, it displays 1d6...if i give it any secondary damage, it still only displays the 1d6 and ignores the rest.
i tried doing a search on these forums for secondary damage, but got 0 results.  is there a trick to getting custom damage to display properly?  I'm not understanding why it's overriding even the primary damage values i enter in, and defaulting to 1d6.

I've tried everything I can think of...saving it, deleting the item and recreating it fresh...reloading the program thinking maybe it was bugged...nothing...I'm forever stuck with a 1d6 scimitar no matter what i enter into the fields

did you try renaming the weapon to something other than "scimitar". it might be because the damage value for a scimitar is coded into the program and cannot be altered.

I did and it had no effect.  i just went in and renamed it and removed the scimitar prof req just in case...and after saving, the name updated just fine, but the damage is still 1d6 even though i currently have it set to 3d6 primary and 2d6 secondary

all i'm trying to make is a 1d6 scimitar +4, with 2d6 electrical damage...nothing out of the ordinary and all the functions APPEAR to be in the proggie to do it, but I just can't get em to work

i can change the 2nd value to d10 or d12...but i can't get it to take anything other than a 1 for the number of damage dice, nor can i get it to display the secondary damage in either the proggie or the character sheet once generated

i was kind of surprised not to find ANYTHING in the forums about this...can't believe i'm the first one to ask about this...seems a common customization to me

The secondary damage is for a double weapon, like a quarterstaff.  Just build the weapon in the weapon creator when you make the charcter.  Just remember it's 2D electrical damage, or put it in the character notes.
